Objective: The program aims to provide comprehensive support to newly arrived Brazilians or those planning to live in the region, offering crucial assistance during their initial steps in their new life in Canada.

The "Welcome to Okanagan" program reflects Brazoka Association's commitment to strengthening the bonds of the Brazilian community in the region. By offering practical and welcoming support, the association aims to facilitate a smooth transition for newcomers, promoting a sense of belonging from the start.

What is included:

Welcoming Support: Each newcomer will be assigned a Brazilian volunteer who will accompany them for a few hours, providing personalized support and guidance.

Documentation Assistance: A volunteer will assist in obtaining the Social Insurance Number (SIN), a crucial step for integration into Canadian society.

Guidance on Shopping and Establishments: During the tour, a volunteer will guide the new resident to the first supermarket, providing information about local products and assisting with initial choices.

Local Tips and Recommendations: An experienced volunteer will share valuable tips about the region, from locating support centers to suggestions of services, providing a comprehensive introduction to life in the Okanagan.

Monthly webinar: The mentor will promote monthly webinars to provide information and tips on how to prepare to live in the Okanagan.

Welcome eBook: Each new member will receive a comprehensive eBook containing essential information, such as where to obtain documents, immigrant supporting organizations, useful services, businesses selling Brazilian products in the Okanagan region, so forth.
