Ogocuca

Brazilian culture and Portuguese language workshops for children.

Objective: Ogocuca's purpose is collaborating with Brazilian residents of the Okanagan Valley so that their children can maintain or learn Portuguese as well as aspects of the Brazilian culture.

Who can attend: BrazOka members' dependents aged 5 to 12, with all levels of Portuguese. Only available for members in good standing.

Schedule: 

  • Frequency: Weekly
  • Methods: Storytelling, art, games and other dynamic learning resources
  • Day of the week: Saturdays 
  • Time: 
    • 10:30 am to 11:30 am for children 5 to 7 y/o 
    • 12:00 am to 13:00 pm for children 8 to 12 y/o
  • Format: In Person
  • Location: Kelowna Mission Library | ORL Branch - 4105 Gordon Dr. Kelowna
  • Duration: 1 hour each group
  • Start Date: October 12, 2024

Contribution: the program fees are not included in the Annual Membership Fee. Additional costs apply as per below:

  • Drop-in Fee: $10 CAD per child per day

Fees are not refundable in case of cancelation or no-show.

When you become a member, you are required to inform us which program(s) you would like to sign up for. If you have not selected this program when filling out the new member application form, please email ogocuca.brazoka@gmail.com to sign up your dependent(s) for this program.
